Cultural Events And Partnerships
Due to its historic town appearance, the free city of Rust is almost obliged to present a wide range of cultural events. A great deal of value is attached to diversity and quality because of its location in the heart of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage region Fertö-to/Lake Neusiedl. There are therefore many concerts by the music society and the cultural society, which make for an extremely varied programme for our guests.
The UNESCO Wold Cultural Heritage town of Rust is also member of the "Small Historic Towns in Austria", an organisation comprising 18 small towns that have joined together to promote the treasures of their towns.
The wine-growing town of Rust is twinned with the German beer-producing town of Kulmach and the wine-producing town of Tokaj in Hugary.
